The Great Unveiling and Daddy's Birthday

The master bedroom. The carpet is in and the bedspread is beautiful. More furniture to follow but it looks great.

The towels are hung and the Kleenex is in place.

The couch and TV are waiting for Big Game watching. It's a great area out here and the best part is that it can be washed down with a hose!

The matching recliners are in place along with the area rugs and kitchen table and chairs.

I've decided that everyone needs their own golf cart! These things are so much fun to drive! Daddy said he's ready for the next one.

Of course, Mama made good use of the kitchen and was busy cooking/warming and issuing orders to the troops. Joan was either trying to comply with her assigned task or staying out of the way. We did both.

Great area rug and quilt in the guest bedroom. Pat Petty is the hero on the furnishings, rugs and some of the color choices. Kudos, Pat!

There were about 15 of us for lunch so Mama had exhausted herself planning and organizing.

Carolyn brought great flowers from the Hill Country and, as soon as Round 1 of lunch was over, Jack, John and Mike decided that it was time to hang another cabinet.

Kat and Andy.

Plenty of room for a myriad of vehicles to park.

And JJ has a nature-provided sandbox for all his trucks.

Daddy and Cora Lee checking the place out. Sorry, Daddy! This is the only photo of you all day. I guess the slab of chocolate cake made me forget to shoot photos of the Man of the Day!

Andy and Kat taking their turn driving around.

And, the spring flowers have started to arrive. Beautiful! Here we have the Yellow ones.

And the yuccas.

And the Other Yellow ones. (We can obviously cross horticulturalist off my career list.)

A dying cactus that I liked. (I guess it's dying. Or rusting. Or something.)

It's so dry down here that it doesn't take much to start a big fire. Fortunately, it didn't get
close to us.

But the horses seem happy and highly interested in seeing what Lacey brought them.

Piper doing her part to keep the horses moving.

I have no idea where these clothes pins came from but I love them along the fence line.

And so, the close of a great day at the ranch. Mama and Daddy are rightfully proud of the house and property and I hope get to spend a lot of time there. Jack is talented beyond belief and has given so much of his time to building this place. I love and thank you, my Craigslist loving brother. Pat...as always, your decorating talents know no bounds. Carolyn, Joan, etc. thanks for sharing, obeying Mama and loving. I just show up, eat a lot, shoot a little and then head out but it's terrific to be a member of this insane family. Happy Birthday, Daddy! May we share many more of your birthdays down here.
